Background: G. Krishna Prasad, also fondly known as "KP" and "Native Seed Man" in Rural Karnataka, is the founder of Sahaja Samrudha, an organisation that builds networks with organic farmers, shares knowledge, and facilitates an exchange of seeds. As an Ashoka Fellow and with an M.Tech background in environmental engineering, Krishna Prasad has done extensive work in the field of indigenous seed conservation and has organised conferences for seed savers in Karnataka. He has also played a major role in introducing and including a seed conservation programme in Karnataka's organic farming policy.
